Good news, Bad news

Yesterday my clown had thier 4th spawn. This is the one I wanted to raise. Problem is today, after being in one place for over 2 years, their host anemone has decided to move. They are still tending to the nest but they are straying to find the anemone. it is about 10 inches away and still moving. I tried to move the tile closer to the anemone but the male gets upset and looks like he gets aggressive and attacks the tile. I am afraid he will dislodge the eggs.

Should I move the eggs on day one to another tank or let them defend it from a distance. What are the chances of the eggs hatching in a hatchery being 1 day old? I know they will sleep in the anemone at night and there are a couple of wrasse in the tank as well as a mandarin that would love the chance at a midnight buffet.

I would leave the eggs where they are, my anenome did the same thing, and they tended to the eggs fine. They did skip a spawn trying to decide on a new location, but went right back to it as soon as they chose one.

I'd put another tile wherever the anenome attaches and they might not miss a beat. I guess if you really thing the other fish will eat the eggs, you could move the tile now, but i';ve had my male eat the eggs after I relocated his too...kinda 50/50.

Are the eggs from the pair in your Icon?

Thanks Jason, yea the male got really upset when I moved the tile. I put a small PH in front of the rock that the anemone was heading too and I think it felt the current and stopped and is now heading back. it is now less then 6 inches from the eggs after moving a foot away. I think we can all live with that. Both male and female are tending & protecting the eggs now.

My pair of Snowflakes are still a little too young to breed. the pair that is breeding is a Snowflake male and a True Perc female. Here is a pic from the first spawn on the glass. pic a little blurry cause I can't clean too close to the anemone.
