Good or Bad Algae?

On one of my LR's I have a plum colored "vine" growing across it. I feel like it is some sort of algae but not sure what. It is growing like a vine with little shoots coming off of the part that hugs the rock. Any ideas or is there a place where I can view pictures of various algae? No camera.

Sounds like a macro to me. Good or bad depends on your point of view. Many macros can take over a tank in a short amount of time, however, they are also very good at removing the "bad" stuff from the water. If you don't want macros, I would be diligent in removing it before it gets a good start.
