Gorgonian eating cyclopeeze (pic)

Two polyps on the upper left can be seen swallowing cyclops. One polyp on the bottom right is in the process of snagging a cyclops.

The gorgonian pictured is most likely a Pseudoplexaura sp.

I can easily see it Gary. Pretty amazing! Did you do any photoshop work on it? If you want to mail me the original, I can check the levels to see if we can enhance the upper left area to show the food more...I can pm you my gmail address if you want...

I don't play with pictures too much. The only touchup I did (in irfanview) was to crop, hit 'sharpen' once and knock down gramma correction a wee bit. If you want to play with the pic, Joe, you're welcome to do so- just provide an email address.
Quite honestly I think the pic came out kind of lousy because (unkown to me) the batteries in the camera were just about to die.

alot better than my camara could do even if i overclocked it w/ a car battery!-oh yeah nice pix! CHOMP AND GULP!YUM!

Nice shot Gary, is the one where we see the coral ingesting a crop of the other?

how many other's here have this coral?

This particular gorgonian species is one of Julian Sprung's favorites. It can be seen growing in the 20,000 gallon reef aquarium @ Atlantis Marine World and it's also in David Saxby's reef aquarium.

I've got some of this. I frequently feed it super fine pieces of chopped up seafood. I think it likes rotifers as well.

I have a piece and I love it! I got it directly from you Gary when you were at your old house (with the old tank). I have since collected a few other photosynthetic gorgs. I am a big fan :)
