Got stung for the first time

Well I was moving some corals around then stupid me didn't think about the frogspawn that was fully open when I was moving some star polyps when it felt like I got stung by a bee...I noticed the one head of the frog shriveled up...now I have a bunch of tiny bumps and a red spot where he got me and it itches... I guess I'll be a little more careful next time....lol

same thing happened to me about a month ago
i was moving some stuff around, and i got bit/stung on the back of my hand, it was about 1/4 inch round, swelled up and was inchy, not i have a scar on my hand from it.
still have no idea what it was.

what i did for the itch, was kept rubbing bactine on it, i dont know if it worked, but the itch went away after 2 or 3 days.

hmm, people have different sensitivities to corals. My frogspawn is certainly ready to sting, but whenever I blunder onto it it feels really sticky and doesn't have a lasting effect on me. The worst reaction I've had is some red swelling/throbbing after touching ricordea with my thumb that had some superficial scratches. already on it. Even though I don't practice it, if you want to avoid stings always wear gloves:hammer:

i dont have gloves, im afraid i wont be able to "feel" as good as opposed to my bare hands, ive been keeping saltwater fish/reef tanks for about 8 years or so (not all together) this is the 1st time ive been effected.

no reactions whatsoever here. I have gator skin, except for the time when I tried to be funny with my long spine sea urchin. That got me pretty good.

Infected areas can be treated with some vinegar or a paste made out of water and baking soda.

I just washed the area with soap and water, the itching stoped after about a hour. All thats left is one red spot where it stung me. I'll live...don't know about the frog tho the one head hasn't opened since...

I'm always getting stung by stuff at the store. The worst is when an LPS gets an open paper cut. Much worse than lemon juice in a cut IMO

Harl,
I noticed your in bayville....what store do you work at? your 5 min from me

I touched a black spiny urchin ever so slight. Any thing that touched that portion of my index finger was painful. Took about 3 months before the pain went away. Couldn't see anything in the finger, I guess kind of like a splinter.

My frogspawn has never bothered me. I touch it all the time, not on purpose, I guess I too have alligator skin when it comes to the frogspawn, but sissy fingers when it comes to a urchins.

I heard lionfish stings can be painful...

Had one get me on the topside of my elbow. That was beautiful. talk about having a numb arm for 4 hours. I should've gotten a tattoo that day, LOL. lack of breathing? Nah. more like relaxed, LOL
