I think that's what it is. The LFS donated some to me. I kinda like the look but I'm hearing things about it being a bad idea. Right now it grows just around one rock in my main tank..with fish and corals. It looks like cluster of beads. Anyhow, it lights are not on 24 hrs. What should I replace it with. I don't like plants that are "wavy".

I WOULD GET IT OUT QUICKLY!!!

I just got about 150# of live rock thrown in with lights and a chiller from a guy getting out of the hobby (because calupra) Instead of trying to salvage the $500.00 worth of liverock (free to me because of the calupra) I just threw it in tubs outside in the sun to kill the damn stuff. I will use in a few weeks as good base rock.

Its probably too late but I would try to get rid of it. You have to remove every thread. If you want to add something go with chaeto.

I can "donate" a pound or two every few weeks.

If I could have met more hobbists like your friend who getting out of hobby just because of Caulerpa outbreak, I would never ever need to buy liverocks anymore for the rest of my life time.:p :p

IMHO, you may able to kill most of the lives in the liverocks by basking them to the sun outside in tubs, but not the spores of Caulerpa. For your information, I have seen grape algae growing in tidal pools with water temperature as high as 41C. :) :)
