Green chromis in LTA

I've been witnessing one of my green chromis going inside my LTA
He goes into center, by the mouth and sits in it like a clown.
He brushes against the tentacles w/out getting stung.
I'm having trouble posting pics, but if you click on my gallery you can see it.
Pic isn't great ( I was rushing for camera), but you can tell.
Anyone else hear of this?

I keep trying to get a better pic, but evertime I get close to the glass they think it's feeding time and rush up against the glass.
He's brushing against the tentacles.
Bizarre

Aren't Chromis in the same family as Damsels? I have heard of many damsels(mostly domino) that will host in a variety of things.

Yeah, it's a damsel, I just thought clowns were the only fish resistant to an anemone's sting.
I've had these chromis for years, same as the nem.
This is the first time I've seen one go inside the nem.
Only one chromy is going in.

Yes, but so are clownfish.

few

few

clowns, domino damsels, and banggi cardinals (plus many more)all can make home in a variety of different things, LTA, long spine urchins, softcorals without getting stung.

:) im witnessing the same issue atm

I just bought a purple LTA about 1 foot in diameter with 2 clowns which im hoping will host in him. After 3 days it seems that the clowns and the 1 blue chromis i have in the tank are becoming GREAT friends and ALL 3 seem to be trying to host in the LTA. The chromis is actually getting further into the LTA then the clowns are atm :) I was under the same impression that ONLY clowns hosted in LTA's. I guess we all learn something new and interesting even when we least expect it :reading:

My green chromis just started going into my LTA. I was waiting for it to become lunch but I guess not. Well, at least something is being hosted by my LTA, my clowns certainly couldn't care less for it. lol

Wow, this is an old post!
My maroon kicked them out years ago.
I'm sure your clowns will eventually come around.

Guess I might as well add the pics I couldn't figure out how to do back then!LOL
