I you are talking about these guys blue/green chromis than yes they are totally reefsafe. They are not mean, unless they are being mean to eachother. I don't see any issue with putting a school of them in you 150. The only caution I would have is that sometimes the group can wittle down to the few really dominant ones.

i think it is always better to have a big school than a little one. i have a school of 12 in my 190g and they are doing great. but i have to feed them alot because some tend not to get some food at feedings.
reef safe. I had a school of 7 but they seem to attack the weak and/or small ones. They tend to school when they feel freightened. Put in an (semi)aggressive fish and they will surely school.
