I used to have this orange diamond goby that was about 5 inches long about oohhh, six months ago. One morning I looked for him and he was gone. Fearing an ammonia spike, I tore apart the tank looking for him and causing a lot of upheavel in the tank.
Doing a little spring cleaning on the tank today I decided to pull the sump and clean it out. Cleaning out all the old paper, testing supplies and wiping down the bottom I got to the couple of inches between the stand and wall and found.........THE GOBY.....looked like a banana slug all dried out. Funny thing is that I have an excellent nose, can't believe I missed it.........
GROSS.......must have jumped out sometime......that will teach him!!!
Moral of the story, fish aint dead till you find the body....leave no man/fish behind
