Just took some update pics. I usually photo the whole tank once a month. For some reason I always forget to take full tank shots.

I forget but it looks similar to pocillapora (sp?). What a difference the light makes, this piece was obtained at the same time and was the same size and all I did was mount it in a less light intensive spot.

This purple rim has to be chipped back every 2 weeks or so because it threatens my peach milli which has grown slowly but is well attached to the rock and cant be moved.

Id love to see time lapse examples from others if you have em?

Oh and what's the lighting on the tank? I bet my pocillapora would color up like that if I had it under better lighting, but I don't know if it would want more or less lighting.

That is magnificent, thanks for the post. I will have to look at old photos to check growth. I don't know if I have individual shots, but I will certainly start to take them.

Wow Dave, the tank looks spectacular. I remember when I came by for the two dwarve angels and it was like bare more or less. What are the stats on the tank lighting? your profile says 3x250w but what bulbs/ballasts/reflectors? I want my pocillapora to look like that. How far down from the lights are they?

Thanks for the comments.. how are the angels? I am approaching my 1 year mark in the hobby.

The lighting are xm10k's single ended and 3 5' vho atinics
as for the ballasts, i have 1 icecap and 2 by vue. The reflectors are a simple / cheap polished aluminum type. see the pic:

The pocillapora are at the top, apx 12-15" from the lights
my lighting is on an adjustable rack held up by a bicycle hoist.

Dave,

The angels are doing great. They get in a tizzy every now and then against the pair of Dottybacks, but for the most part they're doing really well and are fat and happy.

I definitely need to go back to the XM 10ks instead of the 14k hamiltons that I have now. I've actually got 1 IC and one CoralVue ballast (the blue one) as well, with the same reflectors. So I gotta go back to 10k and see how the Pocillapora colors up.

Thanks for explaining more. Congratulations as you approach your 1 year mark. The tank looks great!

Dave, Very nice progress, and to think that you were close to give up on acros just a few months ago, it goes to prove that perseverance and patience go a long way in this hobby, I am very happy for you!
