Growing coralline algae

omg. Its like a cancer for me. id love to give you some. Its all over the glass... omg .Im in lake worth though.
 
Give the tank time, and the right parameters, thats all you need. I wont happen in a few weeks, more like months.

The only thing that stuff helps is to crash your tank. Beware of that stuff. Crazy alk doses and it must contain a ton a mg as well because it can get your ca into the 800 ppm range. Been there did that... nuked a bunch of corals along the way.

Take it from me, dose nothing without testing it!!

Shoot, Seriously. If you wait, you will be just like me.. Hoping it would just go away..

I too, in the start, was obsessed with getting it to grow. Its awesome when its on the rocks.. It REALLY is beautiful on the rocks. But, for some reason, glass is so much easier to grow on for it. .

But, it took me probably 3 months or less. Now its just a fight. Wait to hate it. Dont rush to hate it tomorrow.
 
So my best bet is to just get a piece of rock with the coralline on it an let it play its role with out using the purple up?
 
Listen to the elder Eddie, get your parameters up and consistent and it will grow on it's own. Stop reading and listen, give it time.

Magnesium
Calcium
Alkalinity
 
Not sure how big is your system, but if it's small like a cube then your PWC you do and the reef salt you have is all you will need....... once you get some in your system.
 
My tank had 0 coralline until about 2 months ago when the tank hit 8m old. Now its all over the place. I have 0 in glass though since I bought the mag-float scraper and im in love lol. Also my tank is pretty low nutrients idk why I feed 2 times a day, run 0 carbon or gfo and I can go 7 days w.o cleaning class
 
My system is a corner 5, 5 gallon marineland. Guess ill just try to keep all the right things for it to start growing hopefully it will

NO secret really. My PO4 .02 and NO3 are undetectable. All I run is a bm nac 5.5 and cheato with bioball. The bioballs in swapping for siporax, since reefers are having such good result here lately. I feed 2 times a day frozen misys or spirulina/mysys mix also frozen. Now im throwing in coral frenzy pellets to mix it up a bit. Fish loveee it. I ONLY feed in small amounts, pretty mcu what they can eat In about 20 secs or less. I was running carbon and gfo but removed it since it was sucking my tank dry of nutrients. Since my tanks look 10 times better. Im dosing RS reef energy A/B(Love it by the way) every other day. I do W/C with NSW every 2 weeks 20g. Tank is 62g Cube. besides that nothing special
