GSP turned brown...

I just switched from a 65W PC to a 150W MH (it's either 10 or 14K...I got it a while ago and don't remember). I hung the pendant about a foot to 16 inches above the tank (the PCs were sitting on top of the tank) so the corals wouldn't get shocked. It's not as bright as the PCs were, so I moved it down to about 10 inches. About 30 minutes later the GSP I have closest to the top of the tank looked pretty bad...it had turned mostly brown and was limpy. My question is do I have now too much light, or because of the distance is it still not enough? I've had the PC for over a year, so maybe they're just shocked? Everything else still looks good.

Thoughts?

You might have fried your GSP. converting from a 65Wpc to 150W mh is a pretty drastic change. It is almost like changing from a cloudy 5pm sky to a sunny noon sky! I'd advise moving the GSP to the bottom of the tank and then gradually move it upwards if you like to. Or you can just leave them at the bottom. You can probably turn the pc off for now. BTW, 150W for a 10G nano is really , really , really overkill!
