Halide bulbs at Menards,home depot etc.

I was in Menards, lowes, and Home depot and was looking for the fuge light that Melev has, and I came across halide bulbs for $20. They range from 50 to 100 watts, I want to know if they could work for a fuge.
I also dont know the color temperature of the bulb yet but I will find out.

Not halide bulbs, but I recently got power compact fluorescent reflector lights [25 Watt Daylight R40 Flood 6500K (100 W equivalent)] from buylighting.com for $14.95 plus shipping.

Chaeto growing like mad.

Does anyone have anyinfo or used these before? They seem like they would work, just want some input before I try to use them.
