Halimeda question

I think its time to prune my Halimeda.

I was just going to cut it back between the segments, and remove about half of it.

My questions... Can this be propagated? If so, how (can you attach the segments to a small rock)?

Please let me know.

I'm sure the segments can be secured to small rocks with a rubber band or supergel. I have always just wedged the segments into crevices in thr liverock, but the easiest way to propagate for transplanting later is to plant segments about an inch deep into a sand bed. The holdfasts develop very quickly this way.

Yep, I agree!! I just took a bunch from my 37 placed it down as far as I could into my 125, and then I took some others and squished it between rocks. All is working out perfect!!! New "buds" are already showing up.

Halimeda is easy to keep and grows fast. Just realize that it will compete for calcium. So watch your level and be prepare to add more calc in.
