Welcome to Reef Central and FMAS!

Odyssea light fixtures are cheap in price and the same in quality. The prices for most things may seem overwhelming but I would drop the money now for nicer new or used equipment and save money overall. What types of corals do you plan on keeping? You may want to get t5's instead or powercompacts rather than metal halides depending on your needs.

I use an epoxy glue that most LFS sell that I can't seem to think of the name... Someone will chime in with that answer.

I have heard good things about eheim automatic feeders aswell as hydor. Get the autofeeder that has a cooling/drying system to keep the pellets from getting moist.

ditto ditto ditto
great post Matt .

As far a s glue I don't use epoxy-it def burns sps base - IC gel is my preference but u can certainly use epoxy and or pond lining foam/glue to keep them rocks in place. In time coralline algae will cover it.

I bought a small Odyssea light for my pico tank and was suprised at how well it was actually made.

I have read many threads on RC about the New odyssea lights and IIRC the ballast is the only really crappy thing about them.

I am not saying you should buy one or not, only that you should go to the main section and ask people who actually have used them and made some mods to them to make them work better.

I had one and they are not that bad except the MH ballast IMO they are a FIRE HAZARD. add about $ 100.00 to the price for a new ballast, and because the MH spread is only designed for 2 feet max from that size reflector the tank may look a little darker at the ends, the unit you are looking is 30". Wait, something just came to mind the 48" that i had, had normal pc ballast i think below 36" they used this cheap pc ballast looks like a microchip board, some people had to replace them also. Before ordering check the big thread on them. WELCOME
