Heatsinks for 250w galaxy ballasts...

I've got 2 250w galaxy ballasts & they, as we all know, produce a little heat. Has anyone done DIY headsinks for these? Is it worth it? Will it benefit me at all?

i believe the whole outter casing acts as a heatsink.

Yes, I know that...but it still gets really hot. Just curious if there are any benefits...longevity or performance wise to additional cooling...
