okay, my dad brought back this neat dead coral from his trip to Hawaii, i placed it in a Quarantine tank because he took it out of the water and i wanted to be sure of no foreign kritters, some black snails came out, i looked them up and they are good guys that you can buy from reef stores and they are in fact foreign to Hawaii and were released due to the aquarium trade. but then i found this crab, i took him out a put him in a 1 gallon. i then placed the dead coral in a tank with uncured live rock, its a new setup. well another showed itself and i have tried on 4 occasions to catch it. i was looking to see if anyone could ID this guy for me. i have observed the one in the 1 gallon tank and all he does is pick at the rocks and pick micro algae off of the piece of red grape kelp i put in there. i added 2 snails, i was afraid he would eat them as he went right over to them, but all he did was sit in their backs and eat the stuff off the shells, its been a week now and both snails are fine. i get a feeling these little crabs would not hurt my corals but i need to be sure before i add corals to this tank.
