help for red open brain coral

Hello,
Sorry to bother you with this....
And hello to all (I am a brand new member).

I bought yesterday a red open brain coral (my first ever).
I was looking ok in the shop, even if the aquarium was only in actinic light.
I brought it home, acclimated as usual, and place it on the sand bed. I have the. curious feeling that it is dead, even if it is pink and if I do not see the skeleton anywhere. I prod it (delicately) today and the feeling is that of stone. i know it is dumb, but perhaps it is ok. I just do not know.
I made another mistake yesterday at the same shop, and bought a branching hammer, and when i put it in aquarium, I saw that the skeleton was exposed in a lot of parts.

Any advice would be happily received.

I have a 100 gallons, bubble magus protein skimmer, vortech power head regulated on lagoon mode, a phosphate reactor. Lights are led.
inhabitants:
2 babies diamond gobies,
1 Lo Vulpinus
1 Coral Beauty
2 occelaris clowns and one anemone
1 carpet anemone
1 bubble coral,
1 sarcophyton,
a few zooanthides
2 elegance
3 tubes worms
1 giant turbo

Aquarium is 3 years old.

Thank you in advance::bdaysmile:

Do you have any pictures of the coral? It sounds like it's just deflated. Find a good spot and give it some time to acclimate and perk up. Also, what are your parameters such as ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, alk, ca, mg, salinity, and temp? If there's something off, that can cause a problem.

Finally, this should be posted in the LPS forum... not softies. You'll get more help over there :)
