Help good or bad?

i have little white dots on my glass that have like little tentical like mandibles on them they are really tiny and look like mold

and allso i have teardrop shapes little white critters moving around inside my tank these are also really tiny


my question is what are they and are they good or bad?

yeah i saw that thread but they are just dots from the description where as mine have tenticaly things and the other critters are not mentioned at all mine whiped off with a scrubby no problem

I'd guess either Scypha sponges or spirorbid worms. If they came off easily, more likely the sponges. Also, could be hydroids of some sort.

i just did a search and its niether of them the dots are a BRIGHT white and have semi cleae short tenticals all the way around

That sounds like a hydroid.

dosent really look like that either it to be honest looks like one of the old school koosh balls only white and the other critter?

Hydroids come in many forms. What you're describing is a reasonably common form for hitchhikers in new tanks. Without a picture, it's hard to be sure, though.

the tank is new has lions in it is this somthing to worry about? also it was right where my return water from my sump hits the glass and thats where these koosh balls where but the other critters are they thos pods everyone is talking about???

The hydroids, if that's what they are, won't hurt anything. The "koosh balls" might be sponges or tunicates, but, again, without a picture, it's hard to tell.

I don't think so. Those all sound harmless to me.

ok from the looks of it little critters are copepods and the other is still unknown

ohoh i had these. it happened about 2 months after starting my tank.. maybe 3 months at most. I got them on my glass, lots of em, lil dot with lotza legs.. i donno. i thought they were baby aphipods or cocapods... either way, im up to almost 5 months now and i dont see them anymore. whatever they are, i think its jjust part of the cycle you know?

ok well i do have 2 lionfish in there and i see tons of copepods swimmin around but the dots are still unknown but i just whiped them off with a scrubby LOL but if you guys think they are harmless ill leave it at that i would take pics but they are to small to see in a pic
