Help! How do I get rid of clove polyps in my SPS Tank?

Somehow, I have got a patch of brown clove polyps growing on my rock work in my SPS tank. I can't take the rock work out and I have SPS encrusted on it. I have tried to coat the polyps with kalk, but it is very hard to get it to stick on the vertical surfaces.

Anybody have any ideas of how to get rid of it without hurting my SPS? I would really appreciate your help.

get a spotted rabbit fish or some hungry tangs. I bought an $80 colony of blue and yellow ones only to have a rock the next day coming home from work.:spin3:

They're very sensitive to kalk slurry. Just squirt some on with a syringe and they should be gone.

Oops, I re-read your post and see that you tried that. Do you mix it thick?

I'd just make a big pancake of epoxy and smash it onto the area for a few weeks and then remove after they have died.

Adding some super-glue in the mix couldn't hurt!

IMO kalk is a waste of time, they will eventually spring back up.

I would remove the sps best you can and then kill the rock with bleach and then acid. I just had to do this to all my rocks since they were over taken with blue clove polyps. They will start showing up everywhere so don't waste any time.

Try Joe's Juice, that stuff is awesome. I tried everything to kill mushrooms, and finally tried it and it worked great.
