Help leather coral

something must have crawled on my leather and ripped it from its spot. while reattaching it i saw a milky white substance come from it. Now my kenya tree which is in close proximity is now shriveled about 25 - 30 min after this happened. Is it possible that the white substance is a toxin. I just doubled up on carbon just in case. Any Ideas?

Leather corals are known to release toxins into the water that can harm other corals. Especially if yours is injured/stressed, it's a likely possibililty. I'd give it a little time and maybe create a little extra flow in the area where the 2 corals are if you don't want to move them. A small powerhead pointed in their direction would be good, just so the slime from the leather doesn't settle on the kenya tree.

hey thanks alot, I think that was the problem. the leather is just starting to display again and the kenya is back to normal. I appreciate the reply.
