My wife was gluing a piece a coral to a rock the glue flew off and a fish grabbed it now he cant open his mouth please help. (super glue)

Wow, that's a weird situation. I don't think there is anything that you *can* do without further stressing and injuring the fish. They produce slime on their skin, the glue should eventually wear off.

good luck, if i were u, if by the 3rd day it didnt open, i'd take the fish out, and poke a hole in the mouth with a needle (desperate times call for desperate measures) i've also heard of (havent done) if u take a needle and put it through their gill opening towards the mouth and poke outwards. but i strongly not recommend the 2nd one... if all else fails, life over limb.

What kind of fish is it? I would wait longer than three days--up to a week if I had to (but as I mentioned, it depends upon the fish species). If the fish can go without food for a while, just let it work itself out--if after 5 days to a week it hasn't cleared, then go for drastic measures

I'd wait longer also. They can go quite a while without eating, and my concern is that the stress of taking them out of water, grabbing a hold of it and piercing a hole with a needle would be worse than the glue itself. There's quite a lot of turnover of skin cells on humans, which is why crazy glue comes off of hands in a day or two... not quite the same with fish, but I think they have turnover of slime.

depends what type of glue it is? if it silcon then your stuffed cus that stuff is designd to last, you may have to act with a needle, im sorry to here about it thow.

As a young child I've glued my fingers together countless times. I always put my fingers under flowing water and it cam right off. Maybe increase the flow or just wait a few days.

sorry, i couldnt resist

I feel really bad for you and your fish. I am sorry this has happened.
But....
I agree with Zukihara,

THis is the oddest thread I have seen EVER and it warrents a picture.

I also think you should wait 5-7 days. What ind of fish is it?

But I went out to eat and when I came Back he had worked it off. So all is good now. Thanks for your concern.

Glad to see he is better!!

I really think some people here freak out excessively--don't mean you, myskers, mean people pushing to drag this fish out of water and start poking holes. Taking any fish out of water and handling it is extremely stressful. This kind of stuff can do more harm than good if you don't think it through, and when I used to work for an LFS, I saw people bring fish in similar situations... sometimes the cure can be worse than the disease....
