my green carpet anemone was doing so ok, well i thought he was. Every 3rd day or so a fed him frozen silversides and shrimp which he took aggresively.
about few days ago, my false percula started to host the anemone, which i thought was great. the clown would almost beat down into the anemone and was a little agressive. for a few days, the clown slept in the anemone
a few days later the carpet anemone decided to move to a higher location 1st day, and then on 2nd day he went down the live rock on the back side the dark area all the way to the sandbed in the 3rd day. today i found him behind the live rock on the sand bed slump down, shrivel up with almost no shape.
when all this started to happen, i decided to take water tests and found all test normal
Aqua Pharm Tests
pH = 8.0
NO3 = 0
NO2 = 0
NH2/NH4 = 0
Salifert
NH4 = <0.25
Hagen
GH = 100 mg/L
Red Sea Test
NO3 = 0
Alk = Normal
pH = 8.2
i suspect my poor lighting to be the problem, 260 watts power compacts. i have a dual 175 w MH kit, which i havent gotten to assemble due to canopy issues and also lack of mh bulbs.
so far i have my poor anemone in a acrylic basket and hung it at the very top near the lighting. water is circulating the basket at a low flow rate.
the anemone does still have life in it. i can see him move and see the tiny tentacles expand. i did place half a silverside, and he is holding onto it. but still has no full blown shape he had before. will update tommorow morning.
is there another test i am missing? should i do a partial water change now, it was two weeks ago i did a water change. should i immidiately add the mh lighting?
please help
