my bc29 water has turned green.it was cloudy first then green now.i can't seem to find the reason why? it was fine a week ago...i have about 3 fish and a few zoas..i do weekly water changes.. tank has been up for about 4 months now..i use r/o water and reef crystal of mix...what can i do? i have done a couple water change already..seems like it got worst today..

sounds like an agae bloom. how much and how often do you feed? have you tested for phosfates?

a uv sterilizer would help.

whats your photo period (how long)? andare you getting direct sunlight into the tank and check for nitrates...
Phosphates isnt the cause

only feeding once a day..lite is about 8 hours...and yes, i think the tank is getting direct sunlight..it's by the window

Algae bloom from the light and window. Cut lights down to 4 hours a day for a week or two.

Drape or shade for window will help.

20% water changes each week till clear

Run Carbon in the filter.

what PRD said....good advice there,
pass on the Phosreactor, as IMO you dont have a phosphate issue....just that darn window.
