Very nice! Any chance you can post photos of your tank running the 20K EVC DE lamps? I'm sure others will agree once they see how your corals are doing.
Chris, i havent ran Phoenix bulbs before but in my experience. Radium, Reeflux 12K, and EVC are my favorite bulbs. All three seem has the crisp look, the Reeflux and EVC lasted a little longer than the Radium before you start to see the color shift change followed by algea bloom.
On the EVCs has anybody tried the mogul bulbs? Are all of you using the 20K or is anybody using the 14K? I'm considering these as a replacement to Radiums which I used to use in the past.
I got a couple of used Catalina 250w 20k Reef grows and I must say I'm pretty impressed. I've used Phoenix and Radiums in the past also. In the few days I've used these my corals are already approving starting to color up and getting good polyp extension. I'd say they are a crisp white with some blue similar to a Radium. The bulbs I got were a couple of months old so we'll see how they fare longevity wise and whether I'll get more, but so far I'm impressed. They cost more new than the EVC though at $70, but Catalina is located in Sacramento .
