OK I need some help here. Just got the new tanks et up and need some advice on how to quieten down the water flowing into the sump. Here's what I have. 72 G bowfront with overflow box. I have a 1" drain going to a sump below. I built a stockman style pipe in teh overflow and stopped the gurgling sound from that. I have about 900 GPH going thru the pipe.

Currently I have the pipe going into a sump below the tank. I added a 45 degree fitting at the end of the pipe to try and slience it. The output sits just above the water level. I have it pointed into a corner of teh sump. I still have the rushing water sound insode the stand and it echos in the room. How can I silence this down? Put the pipe into the water? Add something to the end of the pipe? Any ideas???

TIA.:D

I have my drain line into my sump just barely below the water surface, maybe 1/2" If you go much further you may get the flushing effect in your overflow. That helped quite a bit for me.
