Help- RO unit set on backwash?

Okay this is a stupid question. I have a Maxxima by Kent Marine. I switched the lever to backwash. I think it's the right lever. Anyway I switched it a couple of times and now I forgot which way is the right way to turn the lever to make water. It's a blue lever and right now it's parallel to the tubing. The waste water seems to be coming out faster than usual. Please don't laugh. I was a biology major so I love this aspect of this hobby. The equipment is not my thing though. Please help.

The lever should be placed in the opposite position the tubing is running or it should make a right angle if it is facing the same way as the tubing is running it is on.

Okay I set it so it was on a right angle and the water barely came out of the clean water line. When I set it parallel to the tubing it drips at the usual rate so I'm assuming this is the correct way? It just seems to be putting out a lot more waste water.

Are you talking about the flush kit?

If the blue lever is parallel to the tube, it's in the flush position. You need to turn it off to make RO water.
