I have the G4+ with the Sedra 9000 pump. Recently I purchased the Gate Mod materials from asmskimmers.com. Now that I have installed it I notice that a decent amount of bubbles is being forced though the output of the gate mod into the sump. Before the gate mod I had close to zero bubbles existing my skimmer. I am worried that I am not skimming as efficiently now and now I have to deal with bubbles returning to the tank. Any suggestions?

I think the bubbles were there before. The sponge helped to get rid of them. I looked at the water coming out of my un-modded G-2 and there are bubbles in the output water at the top before it gets to the sponge.
Maybe have the water coming out of the skimmer drain into a piece of the old sponge?
