Help with denitrator.

Hello I have a question for you.

I have a Sulfur denitrifier XL from midewestaquatic.
I have a 300 gallons system.

Always the output smell sulfur from the unit.
I drip rate is high ( around 8 drops/second). the NO3 level from the unit is 0.
once I increased the drip rate, ( 10 or 12 drops/second). but the NO3 level, begun to increase, and go back to 8 drops/second.
What I have to do??

I've never used one but if you do not get any more responses, try posting your question in the equipment forum. I'm sure many there have experience with this unit.
