Hermits and clams

I have had scarlet hermits with clams for over a year with no problem between them. Are there any types of hermits that anyone has had a problem with?I was looking at maybe adding some tiny blue hermits to see if I could finally wipe out some hair algae. The algae is fairly controlled but I want it gone.

blue hermits might not be bad for clams, but they're little monsters when it comes to anything else they can get their hands on, like snails, scarlet hermits, etc...

my blues don't touch the clams or anything valuable, but they do eat snails like hamburgers  and p.s. nothing eats hair algae, i've tried it all, even a lawnmower blenny couldn't "mow" it down. Your best bet is to take out the rock and scrub it with a toothbrush and then place it back in the system. goodluck

Taking upwards of 400 lb of rock out of a 300g loaded with sps, some of which has fused rocks together by the coral is not an option I want to try. Thanks anyway.I have never really had many of the dwarf blue legs and was looking at them as an option but with 7 clams wanted to check about something new in any quantity.

didn't realize you had that much rock, its really a pain to get rid of hair algae, hope you figure something out. Goodluck to you
