Hey...photos as a thank you

Recently I posted a thread here asking for opinions and advice on my next camera purchase. I am seriously considering a purchase that will probably include either a Rebel or 20D body with the Canon 28/135 IS USM and EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lenses...I'd really like to go with the 20D body but that would require a bit longer wait and I will likely go with the Rebel body.

In either case I hope to pull the trigger on the new purchase within the next few months but thats not the reason for this post.....

I've been a member here at RC for a few years now and primarily visit the photography forum due to the quality of photos posted as well as the top notch experience and advice in regard to aquarium photography advice. Over the time I've been here I seldom post but I have benefited greatly from the members here and in part this thread is to say thanks for the support and assistance.

Another reason to make this post is to finally get around to sharing some of my marine photos...my background participation here has assisted me in getting to the point where I believe some of my photos can compare to the outstanding offerings many of you post and I want to again say thanks and look at what you've helped me achieve.

I currently shoot with a Canon G5...and like mentioned above I'll soon be moving up to a much better package but for now I want to share some of my random photos and say many thanks for the quality of experience and knowledge I've found here.

These first two photos are a couple of my personal favorites...I'm posting them a little larger than I normally use for on-line threads primarily to improve the quality a bit. Both have been printed as 8x10's that I personally enjoy....the first is a playful shot I captured by accident of my manderian and goby the second is a photo I took after catching my starfish posing for a pic that I couldn't resist.

I've seen that first goby pic before! I just love the actinic shot, last pic. How in the world did you do that? My actinic shots are sooo blue, and your colors are so crisp and it's a very clear shot!

*edit* I think your pics are awesome, and you'll really do a rebel or 20D justice! I currently have a 350D rebel and I love it. It's all the camera I'll ever need, and hopefully someday I'll learn how to use it to it's potential.

thanks....that manderian/goby photo has been posted a few times I'll admit.....as for the actinic shot I tried to capture what my eye sees under the actinics and in that particular shot I had a standard 60watt bulb positioned at the left end of the aquarium casting light across the display from the side glass.....I took numerous photos with the indirect light and was very pleased with the results......over the years I have had extreme difficulty getting actinic shots that I was happy with....it is just difficult to take actinic shots that come close to representing what I see with my eye. below is an example from the same set of photos with the indirect lighting that I was fairly pleased with. If you liked the actinic zoos I'm betting this indirectly illuminated leather will catch your eye also.

Those photos are incredible!
I'd like to give some credit to the camera ('cause I love the G series) but I know the real credit goes to the photographer :D
Great work.
