I posted another thread about this but in this thread im going to post a picture now and i have not seen another mantis with this sort of thing... well here it is

what is that thing right behind his eyes

oh and can i have the proper id for this mantis cause i was told it was a peacock mantis...

This is not a peacock. It is a female Gonodactylus chiragra. The appengage behing the eyes is one of the first maxillipeds that are used for cleaning. The notch in the edge of the carapace is due to a wound and the cleaning appendage extends up through it and is scratching some shell damage behind the eyes.
