High current and lps

I've recently increased my turnover so that I could keep sps, and am having problems with certain lps now. I have a small area that I was keeping a plate coral and after adding some new koralia powerheads everything in this "surge zone" has died. Does anyone keep plate coral in high flow areas?

no they like moderate water flow

I know they are SUPPOSED to be in moderate flow, I'm asking if anyone has had success with high flow....

Can't help you with personal experience. But does your plate retract its tentacles most of the time or do they remain extended? It is a short-tentacle plate or long-tentacle plate?

well that's the thing. I had one die a few weeks ago, and wasn't 100% sure why. All parameters were perfect, so it was either an aggressive tang stealing food that drifted down or the high current. I saw an awesome orange plate with great tenticles, so I had to give it one more try. I've had it for 3 days now and it eats and keeps it's tenticles out all day.

What's high flow for you? I had a fungia in my 125 BB. It had about 6500 gph on at any given time (roughly 50x). It did great.

Well you got more flow then me, but why are you saying HAD a fungai? What happened to it?

This one is right in the middle. Highest flow but, it keeps going right to left.

Hehe, its fine. Its moved to my brothers tank at the moment while I setup my new tank. :) The 125 is broken down, so it would of been a lie to say I "have" a fungia in that tank. But ya, it reads terribly.
