Hi Nathan,
High End SPS are usually the most colorful and they tend to hold there color in our captive systems. This in turn drives the price up. I personally try to keep the most colorful pieces in my little tank. Did you get some Monti cap at the swap?
I was given some orange cap and purple cap a few weeks ago, and both have been doing well.
I reserved a few frags on fragswapper and made a couple impulse buys.
Got a little bit of everything:
Sunset Montipora
Green/yellow Birdsnest
Tri-color acro
Red planet
Green Slimer
Cosmic Chalice
Agent orange zoas
King midas Zoa
Pink Blastomussa merletti
No bleaching or melting yet, so that is a plus :spin3:
i have been dosing a low concentration of lime water for about a month and have some gfo and carbon running.
Keeping an eye on calcium, alk, mag, ph, nitrates and phosphates.
Wow, nice. Any new pictures? I will follow your progress with your corals. I am mostly interested in what your LED's will do as far as growth and color. I guess I should thank you for being the guinea pig, Dan.
All sps start their journey as high end. Very few people have them, everyone wants them, prices are ridiculous and the hype and discussions on the forums are intense( recent example red dragon acro) irrespective of how they look. Eventually everyone has them the prices plummet and they become a regular acro. Unless u want to brag about being the owner of something no one else has I would advise you to buy and keep corals u like in your tank. Ultimately the beauty is in the eye of the beholder
