hinges for a canopy, any good parts?

pretty basic canopy design, only the face lifts up, its a vertical wall thats lifting.

I dont want an exposed piano hinge though.

I found some REALLY cool Soss hinges, invisible hinges that come in stainless steel. one slight issue, they are 80$ each. for a 96" span, ummm yeah, just 1 hinge would be too expensive let alone like 5...

it is invis from both sides when closed though. so perhaps I could get away with a nickel plated hinge here since its not really exposed like a normal hinge.

I cant seem to find another hinge that will lay flat when closed, then extend past 90degrees when open.

any ideas? soss the best thing smoking for this?

look at hartvilletool.com or Rockler.com or woodwerks.com - they all have great selections of hard to find hardware. is that why they call it hardware???lol

I assumed brass could rust or something, seems to be my only choice.

now I found this

100$ or so, it says its designed for a door up to 48" wide, but I presume thats by weight, and my door is pretty light compared to a typical raise panel door. this thing is an assist that makes the door nuetral, lift it with no effort and itll stay whereever you put it.

If you're looking for the assisted lift, I've seen folks use the hydraulic pistons from car hatchbacks.

Blum normally has good stuff.
