ok this was in the bottom of my live rock that i just bought. it's tonga deepwater and this thing was in the bottom of the bag. it was straight when i dumped in the tank (no fish in there, letting it cure that way) and now it's curled up so i'm thinking it's still alive.

anyway here's a pic.

the thing in the first picture is alive, i just turned on my antinic / blue lights and it kinda tighted up ???

Peanut worm. Harmless.

when i looked up a peanut worm, it didn't look anything like that picture?

it the pink bulb the tail or the mouth? can you tell? any way to get a pic of it exented?

well i don't know, the other end almost looked like an anenome's base ??? really weird. he's went into hiding now, but i will do my best to find him.

when you say the anenomes base you mean where it attaches, or the base of the tenticles? if it the base of the tenticles you may have a Medusa worm found here toward the bottom. hard to say with a good pic of the head. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2002/invert.htm
