Holes in Glass

Hey all .. I am new here and this is my first post .. I have a couple of fish tanks but never designed my own .. well I am not to work on it a specialist will but before I give him the plan I had a question in mind .. if I make holes in the tank would the tank break?

the tank will be made of glass 18mm the size of the tank is 3m by 1m by 1m ... its a huge tank any other suggestions would be appreciable

As long as the glass isn't tempered, it will be fine to drill considering you use appropriate drilling techniques, and bit sizes.

so all i have to tell the glass specialist is use not tamperd glass and show him the dril bit sizes that i want so he can make them for me ..

what about the glass width is the 18mm fo rthe size of the tank any good ? or should i use bigger ?
