Hello all,
I have gotten so much help so far THANK-YOU.
added live sand yesterday. Readings today
are :
Salinity 1.026
nitrate 5.0
Temp 76 degrees
ammonia 0ppm
I hope that my numbers are coming along ok, the tank
is 4 days old. I know that the tank has to cycle I just
hope that its coming along normally.

looks like it is comming along nicely. temp is on the low side IMO but will work. i run mine around 79-80.

How much live rock did you put into the tank? You should see an ammonia spike.

I did not put live rock yet just about 2 inches of live sand is that ok?

you prob. won't get much of a cycle with only sand. unless you add some fish food to start the cycle. LR would be a great way to start the cycle and to seed the sand though.

Thank you, I will get some base live rock tomm. it's ugly but I guess it will kick the cycle into gear.

im only about five months in. when i set mine up i added the sand and live rock the first day and also some live bacteria from the LFS and it cycled in less than a week. not sure if it was unusual but it worked well. u should get an ammo spike and then nitrites. but i agree about the temp being low. ive heard between 78 and 82 is about right.
