I have a colt coral stuck to a rock...it isn't doing well where it is at ... I want to move it to my other tank... this rock is the base under a bunch of others....

How do I remove the colt coral without completely killing it? Can I just cut it at the base...or will that kill it?

CHIZEL IT OUT ? really Why not just cut it . I seen these propgated by cutting them in half . why not just cut it out and have 2 colts?

I am most worried about the chemicals that the misc. Colt species harbours as defense. When you cut these guys a substance comes out that looks like milk. It is a cocktail of stony coral killing compounds. I agree they can be cut without hurting them, but it is best done outside the tank.
