How Do Y9ou Frag Mushrooms

i have a hot purple hairy mushroom that needs fragged...should i just wait till it produces more or should i chop it into peices like the leathers to get more..or chop in half like anenomes, any suggestions to how this process goes...

Cut them up, get a piece of the mouth.
Most people just let them grow, because they aren't exactly slow growers.

cut them with a knife, throw them in a frying pan with a little butter and garlic, fry for a little while and eat....................lol

bmac - you forgot to mention the glass of beer to go with those fried mushrooms

A little trick to keep your fragged mushrooms on a rock until they attach. Take some bridal viel or the material used for paint straining. Take the rock you want your mushrooms to attach to and place the mushroom(s) on it (out of water). Take the material and wrap the mushroom w/ rock to secure the mushroom on the rock. Place everything back into your tank and wait. After some time you can remove the material and your mushroom is now attached. I found if I don't use the material the little buggers just float around.

You can cut the mushrooms any way you want as long as you get some of the mouth. I usually do them in half or in pie pieces.

Cut it up like a pizza, put it in a jar lid or small cup with crushed coral and cover it with a net. Best to secure the net with a rubber band and put it back in the tank. Wait 2 weeks and it is attached to the crushed coral. Now super gel it where you want it.

I would just wait till they split by its self like steph said they grow fairly fast.

im not looking to grow mushrooms, if i would frag anything it would be ricordias and those 45 dollar a cap shroom bmac posted on the other thread...someone was looking for a puprle shroom and i am gonna go up there sunday figured i would give him one quick, so if i cut it now, it will be healed by sunday....

It will take @ 2 weeks for it to heal properly and attatch.....cutting it now and selling it sunday is only spelling disaster for the frag you cut...the stress of fresh fragged along with the shipping and acclimation stress will definitely kill the thing.......just my .02 but you do what you want......

no, thanks, i need .2$ thats why im askin questions...now i have another question to regard mushrooms, sanjay gave me some mushrooms, there awesome, i figured i had enough of them i wanted to do my back wall covered in them, so i tried cutting one in half, and it was healed the next day, now my question would be do different types of shrooms heal better or what, the shrroms he gave me looks like a purple and green ricordia type, but its not ricordia i know that...i asked

If ya wanna get mushrooms off easily, dig out the rock under them, this way yo are not hurting them and they dont need time to heal...the shroom you fragged WAS NOT healed the next day......one thing you definitly need in this hobby is PATIENCE.................after you dig them off the rock( make sure you actually get rock, and not just the foot of the shroom) glue them where you want them. with your lighting they should multiply rapidly....
