How do you attach your SPS?

No matter what i do, discs, plugs straight into the rockwork they just never stay. I have some rather large tangs. Whats your secrets? ive tried the grey epoxy but it never wants to stick underwater!

in this order.

ACRO -> GEL -> PUTTY -> GEL -> ROCK

gel binds everything together, putty conforms to the shape of the rockwork.

loctite putty, just use twice as much as you think you would need, make a ball, push the sps peice into it maybe a 1/4 inch then push the ball onto a part of the rock that has some good roughness to it and just get it to conform to the rock as much as possible and fit tightly around the coral

60% of the time it works every time :thumbsup:

If you are being serious, then it sounds like you are doing something wrong.

Certain things people neglect to do are: cleaning the rock of algae/detritus, and making sure the superglue 'skin" that forms when it hits the water is broken once pressed onto the rock,

I've got corals mounted horizontally with the gel/putty method. Works great.. just don't skimp on the gel. I find if you make a pocket in the putty you can fell it with gel and then it will press out when you attach it to the rock. Just be be careful when attaching small frags not to smoother them.

when i glue my coral to the plug, i leave them out of water about 5 minutes to give the glue time to set. I also sprinkle a little water over the coral and the glue periodically, it helps the glue harden.

Thanks guys!!!

I have some putty but i doubt its loctite because it doesnt work for anything underwater!! i dont have a problem glueing my frags to rock or plugs outside the aquarium but its when i want them to stay permenanty inside my aquarium underwater is the problem but if the super glue gel works im going to buy a tub of it today caus ei have ALOT of gluing to do!!

Super glue or gel frag to a small 1" piece of rubble outside the tank then use putty to adhere to the reef.
