How do you feed your sps?

I have a special system, not like most.

I understand that alot of people do not feed their tanks and I appreciate that, but this is not why I started this thread.

I did not title the thread, should I feed my tank or not.

So could people who feed their tanks please offer input? Thanks.

I agree: fish poop and light. Everything else is overkill and adds to unwanted nutrients.

I do mind. I feel like I will be attacked because alot of the people are too quick to judge.

Listen I did not want to get into this here, but I guess I have to.

I believe fish poop does help encourage the bacteria that feed sps to grow, but if you have a really light fish this is not going to help. Plus I sometimes wonder if bacteria alone is good as the only food source for sps other then light.

I mean alot of experts agree feeding is nessacery.

we are trying to tell you what we "feed" them!!! and fish POOP is it, also light! :mixed:

I am not interested in what you feed them!!! I am interested in those that feed and how they administer it! Please reread the original thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay let me make this clearer in case the original thread was not clear enough.

Only those of you that feed your corals (not the people who feed their fish and expect the fish poo to feed their fish) how do you feed your corals? Do you spot feed? Turn off your pumps?

Thanks.

I think they feed them fish poop, which comes out of the fish in the rear area ;) pretty much an automatic thing ;)

Well I'll answer your question for you I feed cyclop-eeze and DT's. I don't have any fish to poop in my tank so that's What I feed them.

I feed frozen rotifers that you can get from brineshrimpdirect.com for an amazing price (I live locally so it's even cheaper; 9 bucks last me a year). I use a cube everyother day. My SPS have good growth and good color. My nitrate and phosphat levels are zero.

You can see my coral growths here

And the response to rotifer feeding here

For those who don't feed their SPS, I think there are more than one way to skin a cat. You might have good result doing it your way; but it doesn't mean that it is the ONLY way to do it.
