How do you QT a Clam?

Getting the tank prepared for a new clam or 2, and while I'm getting the calcium reactor all dialed in, I thought it would be a good time to ask...

Exactly how do you QT a clam? I don't have a spare MH that I can put over a QT tank, so I'd think the clams would stress out big time if they were in there for too long without good lighting.

BTW - I'm looking at Crocea's and Teardrop Maximas - both of which need good lighting.

Will a FW dip, or some other sort of dip prior to acclimating do the trick instead?

a FWD would be more stressfull IMO then a week in a QT tank with out MH. what lighting do you have that you can put over the QT tank?

well, I guess now that I think of it, I do have my old crappy Odyssea fixture. It needs a new ballast, but the pendant itself is fine.

I have no idea what type of replacement ballast to buy though.
