hello guys,

I found some DAP hydrated lime here at one of my local hardware store.

I looked at the MSDS and noticed that the product contained some sillca, so my question is how much is to much Silica, crystalline?

Here is the MSDS:

DAP Hydrated lime (UPC 7079860010)
- CASRN - 39445-23-3
- WT% - 60-100
- ACGIH TWA - N.E.
- ACGIH STEL - N.E.
- ACGIH CEIL - N.E.
- OSHA TWA - N.E.
- OSHA STEL - N.E.
- OSHA CEIL - N.E.
- Skin - NO

Silica, crystalline
- CASRN - 14808-60-7
- WT% - 0.5-1.5
- ACGIH TWA - 0.05 MGM.
- ACGIH STEL - N.E.
- ACGIH CEIL - N.E.
- OSHA TWA - 10/(%SiO2 +2) MGM3
- OSHA STEL - N.E.
- OSHA CEIL - N.E.
- Skin - NO

This would be used for kalk in a drip.

Thanks :c)

You usually can't tell much fro m an MSDS, but it could be fine.

With a potentially off grade like that, I'd be more inclined to use it in a way that allows it to fully settle before dosing it. Many impurities will settle out.
