How much Light?

I have an acrylic tank 30 gallons. It is 36 x10 x 17. I would like to keep frogspawn, hydnophora, ricordia,mushrooms, toadstool, and similar stuff like that.


I would like to know if four 36" 39 watt T5 HO will be enough light? Does anyone think I should get 6 39 watt T5's. Thank you for your time.

from my understanding that is plenty of light to grow all that and more! Individual reflectors for the t5's and your set

I agree. The 4 bulb T5 setup should be all you need.

Thanks for the fast replies. I do want to have some flexibility when it comes to lighting. Would 4 bulbs be just enough or plenty?

From what I have read 4 bulbs should be plenty. People running SPS tanks usually opt for the six bulb setups. Make sure your T5 setup uses individual reflectors for the bulbs. That is important for T5s. Reefgeek.com has good T5 retrofits and Tek light units.
