How much would you pay for efflo?

That's SCHWEET, but my wife would KILL me, CHOP into little pieces if I acquired that thing.....

I agree it is very nice but $500! way too rich for my blood. And I consider myself a Reefaholic;)

If I did decide to go into debt for it I would definitely have to lob off a few $70 frags to recoup some of the cost. At least these grow fast.

It's a alot of money, but I am willing to bet that $500 is not what he is trying to necessarily sell it for, but see it more as the point at which the piece will be "let go". Personally I have had peices that while not extremely rare or unusual would have to sell for more than the typical rate simply because I have grown attached to it and don't really want to let it go. Then again, everything has its price....

;)

Looking at it from a frag point of view, get 10 small frags off it and grow them out and sell for $50 bucks a piece = FREE CORAL!

What are you guys talking about? I could go to his house and he'd sell it to me for no more than $450. You just gotta know him......

J/k Anthony.

All I can say is that seeing that piece in person is breathtaking. So are many of his other pieces. It's called Cherry picking!!

I bet you someone buys it. I agree with perry. Anthony has some pieces that he just won't sell. All he is saying is that the piece is for sale, just don't expect to get a deal.

That man has some good shiz.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones :)

I saw it in person a couple of weeks ago and it is sick....... but $500 is too much 'cause it is not very big...

How many brown efflos end up that color in the end? Not many! I'm sure if it were at Reefer Maddness it would be simularly priced. Perry, I beleive you hit the nail on the head.

I have seen beautiful Efforences and Solitariensis sell between $120 and $250. I think that price is way out of proportion, then again if you are wealthy go for it!

Last summer a local reefer took down his tank and sold a volleyball sized colony of California Tort (schwebb tort) for $1000!

Anthony Gets some great stuff. And he is a good guy to deal with.

I have seen alot of efflos in the last couple of months, and while most of them color up, they don't all become stunning show pieces. Someone will negotiate with Anthony and end up with a stunning showpiece/centerpiece for their tank.

And I have to say some people get crazy when they see stunning corals. The offers people have made me for corals I didn't want to sell are beyond reason.

On a sad note.... That stunning California Tort colony was in a tank that had a couple of episodes. The colony was fragged to be saved, not a piece of it was sold by the owner.

hi all..I knew someone would start a thread about this piece..It took me awhile for me to finally decide to put this piece up for sell..the main reason why is the money..I have personal obligations now that requires it...I list at $500 is because i had an offer before for more then that...but i didn't want to sell it..the second reason why i am willing to let go is i also have another colony that is 10-12" in diameter that is coloring up nicely also..

I don't just sell this to anyone that asks me..there have been several inquiries about it and i don't just sell it to anyone..I want someone who KNOWS how to keep sps to appreciate the beauty of this piece...many of you might think the price is high..but IMO..this piece has to be one of the top 5 ALL TIME efflo kept in captivity in color and growth..many who have seen this piece will agree with me on this..the color is just insain..

anyhow..It has a new proud owner now..and i know he will take good care of this coral.. I am not sure if he wants his name be mentioned here..but just a hint..he owns an awesome tank that many admires on this board..

P.S. I have also known a guy who sold his regular Green Montipora CAp colony for $1000..yeah..jsut green..but it was huggable!

I myself would not pay that much, just because I have a lot of other things that want my money. I wouldn't mind paying a premium for a frag though. If that piece has been in captivity for a while I think it is completely worth $500. A fresh import that color wouldn't be worth half that in my opinion. It sure is pretty. Nice colony Anthony.
