How often do you guys feed your anemones and what do you feed them?

thanks

Gabriel

What kind of Anemone is it? I used to feed my Sebae 2x a week, but it is growing so fast, I'm down to once a week now.

I feed my LTA and BTA 2-3 times a week. I alternate between silversides and sand eels. I used to feed him frozen formula 1 but I switched recently, now the formula 1 goes to the BTA in my wife's office tank.

where do you get silversides and sand eels?

You can get them frozen at just about any decent LFS.

Sand eels and lancefish are the same thing so you may have to ask about both names.

You may also have luck finding the same fish, or similar, in asian markets. I've had some luck at 99 Ranch, it's definately cheaper if you can find something there.

my local pet suplies plus actually has frozen foods for marine fish (shrimp, silversides, etc) so you might try them

I feed my BTA chunks of scallop or shrimp soaked in selcon 3 to 4 times a week. It has grown so big so quick I may cut back on the feedings.

I need to cut back MY feedings.

how big of silverslides are you feeding? the last 4 times i tried to feed my nem, i gave her 1/3. she spit em up hours later everytime. i thought maybe she was even sick. today i tried 1/6 and it went down like candy.. my bta is about a baseball size disk, then all the tenicles...

its called pet supplies plus? we dont have one of those in LA...

there are (per the website...) 200 stores in 21 states. .looks like they are mostly east of the mississippi... there has to be a similar chain out there.. a petco or petsmart MIGHT have a freezer with some frozen foods in it...

I can't beleive that you guys feed that much....I never feed my anemones intentionally (except my carpets maybe once a month). I started with a few rbta about three years ago....now, I have this....probably over 50 rbta.
