How old is it?

How old and how big can a Derasa get?

you cant tell a clams age by the size of its shell. so your guess will be the best one, how long have you had it? how big was it when you got it? but even with that info, you can only make a guess at best.

Good size clam. My quest 3 to 4 years old. Some of the derasas can grow 2 feet and up!

What if someone had the clam before you with less then ideal water conditions? I have had clams that just didn't grow due to lack of cal. in the system (getting out competed by SPS), and this was for a long time.

Get a ca. reactor. I have a 180 SPS/Clam tank and am able to keep alk at 11 dKh and ca 440 + with the reactor.
