How rare is this?

How many of you out there have something like this? What other colors are available, if you have one, please post a picture. I also do not know what it is, if you do, let me know. Looks much better than the picture shown. Picture taken under 250W MH, 20K XM.

Looks like an acan to me. Probably bowberinski (definitely spelled wrong), possibly maxima. Maximas are very rare. People here tend to say, "Could be maxima, but I doubt it cause of how rare it is."

nice stuff you have in your tank.

The coral you got does look like a lobo. isjg showed a pic that looks nearly like yours. Who cares how rare something is, its cool :p

Wow, nice colony. Got lots of small ones on there. Looks like all the big ones died.

hopefully, it'll be a nice size colony soon. I've been feeding them, so you see there are more babies popping up around the edges. I got it from a friend who didn't have time to take care of it, so the big ones died.

My thought exactly, I like it and it doesn't cost me a cent to get it either. I guess I should have used another word instead of "rare" cause everyone have their spin on corals. I wanted to know if there are more varieties of colors for these out there.

This is my bowerbanski, that one doesn't look anything like it.

This one looks like a Scolymia australis to me. Bowerbanki's are not found as solitary polyps.

Randy, what do you mean by solitary polyps? I cut this from a colony, if you notice the bridge was formed to make a whole polyp. But there are multiple mouths attached to it on the side of the polyps. When I feed the tentacles comes out.

That's definitely not a scolymia.

Here's the mother colony.
