How tall are your canopies?

For those of you who have canopies - how tall are they?

I know some need to be taller because of lighting height.

But some just look downright too tall and out of proportion.

I am trying to decide between 11" - 14" tall.

Pics? :D

Mine is about 16.5" tall. I made it a little taller because it looks good with the 30" tall tank, and it gave me room to integrate the top off reservoir inside on the back and hang my lights at a decent height.

Mine is 14" tall on my 24" high 150 gallon & I think it is about perfect but I couldn't make it any taller because I built 2 doors for the face but I also made the whole front to flip up. I couldn't make it any taller or it would of hit my ceiling when I flipped the front up. I think it looks about perfect on a 24" high tank though

I have a Red Sea Max 250 and I really like the hinged canopy. I like the low profile look (it's only about 5 inches tall) and want to duplicate the look and even the functionality of my RSM 250's sleek minimalist look. I'm up for a DIY build but haven't figured it out yet.

I intend to have a T5/LED hybrid light - so being that close to the water requires a lens for the lights and good ventilation. Also being that close to the water line & corals, over lighting needs to be accounted for as well.

I had an 8" tall one and scrapped it for a 14" tall one for my 125 (20" tall tank). 8" was too low to both hang lights and work in. Both have a piano hinge front. Visually, the proportions might have been better with the 8" one, but functionally, the 14" is much better and the visual isn't bad.

T5/LED Hybrid DIY. Lights are about 8-9" off water and canopy proportion looks good to me. Tanks a 125g

Mine right now is 12 and it looks pretty good. The one I'm building I was planning to do 13 but now I'm questioning it because of how the 12 looks on the tank.
