How To Get Pods From Fuge to Tank

How do you guys get your pods from your fuge to the tank? I tried sucking some up w/ a turkey baster, but it was a tedious task.

Not that I have tried, but can't you just use a powerhead and blow some of the them into the water column then let the overflow pull them into the return pump.

How does your Refugium drain back into your tank?

Once they get enough population in the refugium, they spill over into the tank unless your set up won't allow it.

If you are force pushing them into the tank, I would worry that they are just becoming quick fish food.

Try using a very porous piece of LR. Place it in the fuge for a couple of days and let the pods inhabit. Then move the LR to the tank. I rotate two pieces from the tank to the fuge.

My fuge is separate from my sump, and it sits at a higher level, so the water is gravity drained into the sump, then the sump water gets pushed to the tank by two return pumps.

I don't think they'll survive the journey all the way to the tank this way, that's why I tried to take some myself and dump it in the tank at night, when fish are sleeping.

I think Pettee86's idea is great. I'll give that a try.

I dont think return pumps are going to hurt the pods at all. I have seen that stated by J Sprung in his book III, plus others on the forum.

My pods ride the pumps up to my tank all the time. I'm sure it is a real waterslide party for them but they seem to come out of it none the worse.

Most pods do just sort of get shot into the tank once their numbers increase in the sump.

The return pump will not harm most of them.
